Alcona Duct Cleaning and our 10-step cleaning procedure 1-upon arrival some pictures are taken of the main return trunk and a selected return vent 2-The furnace is switched off 3-protective floor coverings and vent covers are placed 4- equipment is brought inside and set-up to begin the cleaning 5-starting from the furthest vent from the furnace a combination of compressed air and brush is used to dislodge debris and send it down toward the basement where the vac hose is attached in-line with the respective ductwork. 6-each register is hand cleaned using a microfibre/brush 7-the return grills are removed on the main floor and a series of air whips/brushes are used to clean from the opening all the way along the joist liner.(pictures are re-taken here) 8-at this stage all vents on all floors have been cleaned 9-moving to the basement a series of 1 inch holes are made only in the ductwork to accommodate the air whips and rods. This tools will dislodge and agitate any debris inside the main trunks toward the vac line. The blower fan and compartment are cleaned. 10- pictures are re-taken of the trunks and plugs/plates seal the access holes. *This is a brief overview of our cleaning process, there are additional steps not covered here but are used to accomplish a job well done.
