Another beautiful floor brought back to life by Fournier Finishing. I received a call to have this floor refinished last minute by a property management company. New tenants are moving into this rented house, and requested that the worn out floors be refinished. There was heavy gaping throughout, and it required a substantial about of floor filler to fill the large gaps. Large gaps can be problematic as they can never be filled easily. If the humidity levels in the house can be kept the same throughout the year, the floors won't expand and contract over the seasons. However this is rarely an easy thing to accomplish, especially in Vancouver, as we like to open our doors and windows in the summer. With that being said, the filler will look good initially. It will deteriorate over time, but this is the beauty of a natural product like wood. This floor is over an inch thick (2.6cm), so it can bear many more sandings and will last over 100 years.
