October 7, 2020 – Three years ago, we met Fannela & Mitch at a Home @ Garden trade show in Ottawa. We presented a problem with our garage that was built back in 1947 and was starting to leak quite badly and some additional parging work around the front of the garage. Compounding the problem was a neighbour house where the brick wall was collapsing onto the top of our driveway roof. The neighbour was unhelpful and left it up to us if we wanted to fix the garage. We were able to complete the parging work right away (Canadian Masonry did a great job on this part) but had to hold off on the garage work until this year when the neighbors wall started its final collapse as the 150-year bricks were reduced to dust slowly. Work was well done and I have the peace of mind knowing that the foundation and exterior walls are good again (they did pointing and reconstituting) The whole team is super nice and courteous.
This Spring the brickwork below our bay window was found to be disintegrating, presumably accelerated by several freeze-thaw cycles after rain during this abnormally warm winter (2023-24).
All questions about the proposed work were answered clearly, the work was done very well, the workers were polite & friendly and post-construction clean-up was very good.
CMS is great to work with - clear in their communications, professional staff - great quality work, especially considering we had heritage bricks that were very well matched.
Mitch the gentleman who came by to do the estimate was very knowledgeable and explained by were were experiencing erosions in our brick .
Job was done quickly and as quoted.
All of the staff including the masons were professional courteous and knowledgable The work was done on schedule and the quality of workmanship and cleanup was impeccable We would highly recommend Canadian Masonry Services
We had some cracks in the bricks in the window sill and also in the pillars in front of the house.
Work area was spic and span at the end of the job.
When Mitch came out initially to provide the quote, he took the time to explain what the problem was and provided some solutions to help mitigate the issue.
