🇨🇦 Alcona Duct Cleaning and the (10) STEP PROCEDURE we use to clean the air duct system in a residential building. 1 - The furnace is switched off and pictures are taken of some of the trouble areas within the ventilation system. 2 - Then we get to work with laying out protective floor mats wherever the vacuum hose will be run. 3 - All main floor vents are covered to both prevent dust from exiting them during the cleaning process and to increase the vacuum on the entire system. 4 - The vacuum truck is started and vac hose connected from it to the furnace ducting. 5 - High pressure air from the compressor is used to force debris and dust down each vent towards the basement where the vacuum hose is attached. Each vent also gets a wipe with a microfibre cloth to not leave any dust behind. 6 - Then it’s time to switch the vacuum hose over to the return side of the ducting and return vent covers are removed and specialized tooling is used to clean these vents out. 7 - Once every vent has been cleaned on every floor including the basement, it’s time to clean the main trunk lines. 8 - A series of whips and air powered tools are used to get the main lines leading to the furnace cleaned and free of debris. 9 - More pictures are taken at this stage so comparisons can be made with what it looked like before the cleaning. 10 - The system is then turned back on, holes plugged and sealed. Vent covers, drop sheets, vacuum hose, air line and tools are cleaned up!
