Yes. This is one area of exception to finish carpentry that I have. Due to the often ornate and custom nature of historic homes, this can be work that is out of scope for a typical finish carpenter or cabinet shop but can fit into the custom, one-off nature of the work that I produce.

Yes and no. I do not refinish old or new furniture, it is work that needs to be carried out by a refinishing specialist. If I built the piece of furniture and something broke or was damaged then, yes, I can certainly fix or repair the piece.

Yes, certainly. I keep records of my pieces and the materials and products used to make them. For example, if you want a set of 4 chairs now and decide in a few years to add onto that set it can easily be done. You can have a bed frame with side tables designed and built and then add onto the set with dressers years after the bed has been built. I can continue the style into the new pieces using the same materials and finish colour.

In certain areas, yes. While my work is first and foremost with wood, there are some projects that use metal, stone, fabric, pearl or other accents in them. I do not weld or blacksmith metal, so work solely involving those processes will need to be taken to someone that specializes in that area. In the situation that some metal work beyond my scope is a part of a furniture project you have in mind I can outsource that component of the job.

No, with some small exceptions. I can design furniture with small upholstery elements to it, such as: dining chairs and seats. I do not reupholster any furniture pieces though, you will need to contact an upholstery shop for that. I do not design or build fully upholstered furniture like couches and wingback chairs either.
