Do you need plumbing and drainage cover?

Plumbing and drainage cover is recommended as it covers damages in the event of things like burst pipes, blocked drains and even leaking overflow pipes. You should always check what events are covered to avoid the unexpected costs of breakdowns. Users should also check that plumbing and drainage is not covered under other insurance to avoid paying double for it.

Do you need plumbing for a condenser dryer?

Most condenser dryers do not require plumbing. This is because the machine separates water from the moist air into a container which is emptied after drying. In some models, the water removed from the clothes is removed by the plumbing in the washing machine. Other models however require their own drainage using a hose that is fitted during installation.

Do you need plumbing for a spa?

Spas usually require some type of plumbing and/or electrical connection. For safety reasons due to this interconnection of the two systems, spas (public spas) in Toronto are subject to building permit and building code requirements. The plumbing systems are however usually straight forward and mostly just need to be constantly checked for leaks to prevent wastage.

What is an overflow drain in a bathtub?

Just as the name sounds, an overflow drain in a bathtub prevents water from spilling out; in the event that someone leaves the faucet on or accidently overfills the tub.

What is sump pump airlock?

The most common reason for a sump pump to shake and vibrate or for a failure in the pump is due to pump air-lock. When the sump pumps turns off, the water in the discharge line between the pump and the check valve drains back into the sump. If the pipe between the pump and check valve does not have a drain hole, the air will compress when the sump pump is being drained. This prevents water from leaving the pump thus causing problems.
