WHAT ARE FIRE-STOPPING SYSTEMS? Canadian Building codes require fire-stopping systems as they ensure the effectiveness of fire separations. Fire separations are a specific type of gap included in a building to stop the spread of flames in the case of a fire. In essence, fire-stopping systems are techniques designed to ensure fire separations are as effective as possible should there be a blaze. Typical examples of fire-stopping systems used in Canada today include blank openings, wall-ceiling joints, and service penetrations. However, fire-stopping systems come in all types and are designed based on their usage. Common in modern fire-stopping systems is intumescent (increases in dentistry and volume) caulking and collars. They get designed to expand when heated and provide additional insulation against the heat of a fire. FIRESTOP SYSTEMS TESTING Firestop systems are passive and do not require human triggering or an external power source. Any fire-stopping system you use must undergo proper fire testing to be relied on to function as expected in an emergency. What is the process for hiring Pompei Excavation?

To hire Pompei Excavation, simply contact us to discuss your project and request a quote! We pride ourselves on giving honest estimates and fully understanding the scope of work before we begin the job. This means we typically like to come out to your site or property and visualize and comprehend the work along side you, before even compiling an estimate. Then a project specific, highly detailed estimate is created for you to read over and understand exactly the work that is to be performed. Once the estimate is approved, we will schedule a time to sign a contract and then begin work.

What forms of payment does Pompei Excavation accept?

We accept multiple forms of payment, including certified checks, e-transfer, direct deposit, bank draft, EFT, and cash. We are also experienced dealing with insurance companies and claims services. Disaster clean ups and emergency utility/sewer services often require collaboration with your trusted insurance company. Be sure to recommend us!

I did not see the specific service I require listed what should I do?

Pompei Excavation has the ability to provide additional services beyond just what is listed on our website. As well, we have access to premier specialty equipment to complete any job requirement, not all of our equipment is pictured on our site. Building on that, we have built up a wide network of other contractors, vendors and other local businesses in the specific region or area we are working in. If there is a part of a project that you require some help getting to completion, or a consultation on what to do next, feel free to contact us. We would be more then happy to help, or suggest a trade professional we trust to lead you in the right direction.

Where and how did Pompei Excavation Begin?

Peter, the founder of the company was immersed in the construction industry even before he could walk. His father and grandfather prided themselves on building high quality custom homes since the early 1970's. Naturally as dads do, Peter was given front row access to the hard work and dedication required in the construction industry. There is pictures of Peter with a soother in his mouth, on construction sites all over the greater Edmonton area. As time went on, there was one thing they did notice however, little Pete was always outside playing in the dirt and staring in awe of the earthmoving equipment at work. This blossomed into a love of machinery and an entire childhood of watching machines at work. Operating some machines at a very young age, Peter had found his natural calling. Peter's true passion for the industry combining with his work ethic meant he was unstoppable from that point on. Fast forward too today, and you can still see the twinkle in his eye when he watches his nephews playing with construction toys on the living room floor, or better yet going for a ride in one of "Uncle Pete's" big machines.
