Hello Everyone. I hope your all enjoying spring.n I had a phone conversation this morning that has me a little upset. Actually it disturbs me. nI am working with a business partner and part of that is training to do things the Aarsen gutters way. My partner has been doing gutters for another company that charges way more than the average. I will give you an example of pricing further on.n Anyways my new partner told me today that my standards are way higher than what the other company desires. They don't care about the details. They say slap them up and get out. Don't care who you do the drains. Don't care if the gutter is hurt by 1/2 inch amongst other things. Now my partner is actually very excited to learn about quality, learn how to do the job professionally and the science behind why we do things the way we do. n But what disturbs me the other company is a big company that uses high pressure sales tactics. Now I would understand if a person paid an extremely high price and with that price came exceptional quality. But when I hear they don't care about the quality of workmanship that really disturbs me.n Some pricing examples. This fellow took my absolute top of the line system which was new gutters, new downspouts and the best leaf guard system I have to offer. It has lifetime warranties and such. This price was just over $6000 (that is extremely rare to have a job that high). After the job was done the customer told me had a quote for $16,000 and that didn't include new gutter and downspouts. If he wanted that it would be another $6000.n This was just one example. Now $22,000 over $6000 would make you think the quality and workmanship are far superior to mine. But then to be told today that my standards are way higher is disturbing. n As for pricing. Aluminum has gone up a lot over the past 4 years and so has labor of course. But I would say the average house is in the $3000 range. If you are getting 5 digit quotes (over $10,000) then you better have a big strata or a monstrous house. nBe careful what you sign for and don't fall for high pressure sales. If someone can knock off thousands of dollars with a phone call, you should know that is huge red flag.n There are pros and cons to EVERY system and when I send you a quote I actually tell you the pros and cons.
