Had several questions regarding preparing hose bibbs for winter, so thought we would post something. 1) Locate your shut-off valve. Your hose bibb's shut-off valve will be inside your home. Typically in your basement or crawl space. 2) Shut-off the indoor valve(s). Keep in mind that if you have more than one hose bibb, each potentially will have its own corresponding shut-off valve. 3) Detach your hoses. Detach your hoses from your spigots, make sure to drain them before putting in storage. 4) Leave faucets open for the winter. 5) Drain bibbs. Newer homes have a faucet located by the shut-off valve. Once outside faucets are open, open faucet next to shut-off valve and gravity will drain the water from your pipes. Once drained, close this faucet only. Once you have completed these 5 simple steps, you can rest assured that your hose bibbs will be in good shape come spring. The Kiwi Team...
