A Message from Industry Oversight on COVID-19

At Industry Oversight, the health and safety of our customers and pros remain our highest priority.

We have been keeping up to date with the latest developments concerning the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the broader impact it has on the communities we serve. We realize how essential it is to keep your home running smoothly during self-quarantine, especially under increased stress that is put on every single part of it.

Most of the professionals at Industry Oversight fall under the definition of essential businesses as defined by the Public Safety Canada (https://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/cnt/rsrcs/cntry-ovrvw/2022-covid-19-wf-stts-en.aspx) and have a special responsibility to maintain a regular work schedule.

We are closely following the Public Health Agency of Canada's (PHAC) guidelines and recommendations on the necessary precautions to remain operational for our communities during these challenging times. For homeowners, whose tasks cannot be delayed, we have compiled suggestions for safe work in a confined environment.

1. Check in advance whether the pro will take a mask and disposable gloves.

Prepare a disinfectant for surface treatment.

2. Ask the pro to wash his hands thoroughly with soap.

And prepare disposable towels for him.

3. Try not to touch the items that the pro brought with him.

The virus can live outside the human body and settle on clothing and objects.

4. Discuss all the details of the work in advance and in as much detail as possible.

To have as little contact with the pro as possible, arrange everything in a chat or over the phone. Questions that arise during the task can also be resolved by calling.

5. Pay by credit card.

This way, you won’t need to transfer cash from hand to hand.

6. After the pro leaves, clean the work area with an antiseptic.

Alcohol kills the virus, so prepare in advance - stock up on disinfectant with at least 70 percent alcohol and apply it on working surfaces for at least 30 seconds.

Take care of yourself and do not hesitate to be careful: remember that all the measures you take to fight the virus are not only a social responsibility but also your safety.
