Best Concrete Contractors in Montreal, QC

Reinforcing industrial concrete in Montreal, or anywhere else, typically involves the use of various reinforcement techniques and materials to enhance the strength and durability of the concrete. Here are some common practices in reinforcing industrial concrete slabs: Rebar (Reinforcing Bar): Rebar is one of the most common forms of concrete reinforcement. It consists of steel bars or mesh that is placed within the concrete before it is poured. The rebar provides additional strength to the concrete, especially in tension. Wire Mesh: Wire mesh is another type of reinforcement that can be used in concrete slabs. It is a grid of interconnected steel wires that is placed within the concrete to help distribute loads and prevent cracking. Fiber Reinforcement: Fibers, such as steel or synthetic fibers, can be added to the concrete mix to improve its tensile strength and reduce cracking. Fiber reinforcement is often used in industrial flooring applications. Expansion Joints: Expansion joints are designed to allow for the natural movement of concrete slabs due to temperature changes, shrinkage, and other factors. Properly placed expansion joints can help prevent cracks in the concrete. Proper Mix Design: The mix design of the concrete, including the ratio of water, cement, aggregates, and admixtures, is crucial for achieving the desired strength and durability. It's important to follow recommended guidelines and specifications for industrial applications. Call us today!
