Being a small business isn't without it's small (and large) problems from time to time. Equipment maintenance and breakdown is common in any industry that relies on powered tools to help complete jobs efficiently. And this past Thursday, my Hedge Trimmer was no exception to that rule. The motor was experiencing issues running properly, and after replacing all standard components that wear easily, I knew what was left that had to be done. Above is my carbeurator that I took apart, disassembled and cleaned. A common place of issues among small engines, as the carbeurator is a hard-working and critical engine component. After a few hours of unexpected maintenance, the problem was solved and the trimmer was back to working order. It's always a joyous feeling to accomplish a new task that one has never set out to accomplish before. Being a small business, there's always new things to learn as time goes on. It seems that I'm unintentionally becoming a small engine mechanic over time. Perhaps a new winter service I might offer as lawn mower season fades, and snowblower maintenance begins!
