FAQs

How do I maintain the finish on my concrete overlay?

Concrete overlay is comparable to natural stone in terms of maintenance. Depending on the area of your project we will finish the area with sealers and, over time, you will want to re-apply them to maintain your finish. Please ensure that you use non-abrasive cleaners and wipe up spills as soon as possible, without letting them sit on the concrete for too long.

What is the process for a typical project?

We can provide indicative pricing based on drawings. A site visit can be scheduled to ensure mutual understanding of the scope of work and formalization of the estimate. If accepted, we schedule your project and request a deposit. During the first day(2) of the project, we prep the site. Depending on the scope of work, we may need to construct the project framework and install the substrate. Concrete overlay is handcrafted on-site in a layering process that requires multiple applications, followed by drying times. A typical project requires 4-6 layers, and our craftsperson can be in and out of the job site for 5-10 business days.

How is work on a project divided between the master craftsman and contractors?

One hundred per cent of the concrete overlay finishing is completed by our master craftsman, Randy Orr. Subcontractors are engaged to help prepare sites and provide carpentry services, as needed.

Will you be working on other projects as the same time as my project?

During COVID we are focusing on one project at time. When things are back to normal, we usually have one or two projects running simultaneously, due to the drying times required for the overlay. We will be in and out of the work site each day, and try to schedule jobs in the same vicinity, during the same time period.

What is your billing process?

Once you have accepted our estimate, an invoice for a 50% deposit will be sent to you before the project start date. A deposit is required to begin the work. Upon completion of the project, a final invoice for the remaining balance will be issued. Final payment is due within 30 days.
