How does a heat pump work?

Split system heat pump keeps homes comfortable all year long. In the summer, it draws heat out of your home to cool it. In the winter, it draws heat from outside air into your home to warm it.

What is involved in replacing an old system?

Aside from the placement of the new equipment, Proair will inspect several items and make a determination of whether these items need to be supplied or replaced. Some of the items include: ductwork, insulation, refrigerant piping, electrical service, wiring, thermostat, condensate piping, flue piping, flue terminations, chimney liner, slabs, filter, driers, registers, grills, drain pans, and evaporator coil.

Does the heat pump make noises?

Our systems are whisper-quiet, but the fan and compressors make some noise. We suggest that you install your heat pump away from windows or adjacent buildings.

Will the air coming out of the registers from my heat pump feel the same as my furnace?

No. The air will blow longer and harder giving you more air movement. The air will feel cool against your skin. You will not feel the hot air as you would with your furnace.

Is there anything I can do to enhance the performance of my heat pump?

Yes. Simply keeping the filters clean and ensuring all vents and registers are not blocked by furniture or carpets will provide you with good airflow.
