What is the best way to dry carpet after cleaning?
Turning on a dehumidifier is one of the best ways to speed up the carpet drying process. They remove moisture from the room and collect it in a storage tank or direct it toward a drain. If you do not own a dehumidifier air flow can help to improve drying times and opening windows can help, unless it is very humid outside. Use floor fans in areas with damp carpet will help to move the humid air created by evaporation out of the space, and dry the carpet more quickly.
When vacuuming the stairs where should you start?
Start vacuuming at the top of the staircase, using the hose and crevice tool attachment to get right into the corners of each thread, and run along the edges too. Change the nozzle for the horizontal brush and work your way back up the stairs, vacuuming the horizontal surface of each one as you go. It is recommended to do a deep vacuumed of the tread, riser and bullnose of the stairs. Even if the riser looks clean you will be amazed on how much nicer the riser looks after you vacuum it. Dust that settles on the stairs can leave a dull appearance to the carpet fiber.
What is carpet blooming?
Blooming refers to untwisting at the tips of a cut-pile tuft. This can happen to any cut-pile carpet fiber. Carpets with more twist originally are less likely to show this loss of twist. Carpet fibers that are well heat-set will hold their twist the best.
