FAQs

When do you fertilize the lawn?

Fertilizer is applied in spring, summer, and fall at appropriate times according to weather and soil conditions. If conditions are not right, such as during drought periods, you will not receive the maximum benefits from the fertilizer.

What happens when we lose parking spaces to snow piles?

Sometimes there can be no place for storing snow, especially after a huge storm. We offer snow relocation and snow removal services to help with that. Using loaders and dump trucks, we can move that snow to other areas of your property, or truck it away to leave you with even more useable space.

When will my shrubs be trimmed/pruned?

There are many factors affecting the ideal times to trim or prune plants. Some can only be pruned during the dormant season, while others perform best if trimmed back while actively growing. If certain shrubs are trimmed at the wrong time, they may not produce flowers. Also, trimming shortly before frost or drought periods may seriously injure the plants and can cause them to die. Our team of experienced horticulturalists will monitor all plants weekly and perform trimming and pruning at the best times.

What happens if we get rain or bad weather on my scheduled service day?

It is not a good or safe practice to cut your lawn and work on your gardens during or right after a heavy rainfall. If we cannot perform your weekly visit due to inclement weather, we usually come out the next business day to complete the work.

What can be done about this?

First of all, any debris that accumulates in these areas should be cleaned regularly to avoid this from happening. Our weekly maintenance includes cutting down any weed growth in these areas regularly so that they do not become large and hardy. We may also apply an environmentally-friendly vegetation control to prevent new weeds from growing.
