FAQs

How often will salt be applied?

Salt may be applied any time your pavement is or can become icy. We can provide an estimated number of applications per season, based on location, type of business, etc.

When will my snow be cleared?

Snowplowing usually begins upon accumulation of 5cm or more of snow. Depending on start and end times of storms, we dispatch our plows so that all areas are accessible and passable during the storm, and then we immediately perform full snow clearing when it stops snowing.

Where will the snow be piled when you plow?

Snow is to be piled in designated areas. Some properties have parking spots allocated for this purpose. Others prefer to make a large pile in a back corner or on the lawn.

What is de-icing?

De-icing is when salt is applied to your pavement after snow or ice has formed or accumulated, such as after plowing is complete or when a few centimeters of snow accumulates and gets compacted by vehicle traffic.

What is anti-icing?

Anti-icing is when salt is applied to your pavement prior to ice accumulating, such as just before freezing rain is forecast or when the pavement is wet/slushy and temperatures are expected to drop below zero.
