FAQs

Will the Waste Box be placed where I choose?

We do our best to get it as close as possible. We can be flexible as to where to drop the Waste Box as long as safety and property damage is not an issue. The minimum length and turning radius requirements of our truck to access sites (and offload the Waste Box) must be considered. Low clearance powerlines, roof overhangs, tree branches, etc. as well as soft grassy areas are taken into account when offloading.

Is the Waste Box covered by insurance?

You are required to obtain your own insurance coverage for the rental bin. We cannot provide insurance coverage for a box while it is at your location.

Is your company licensed/insured and/or in good standing with Worksafe BC?

Waste Box is in good standing with WorkSafe BC and maintains adequate insurance through the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. We are licensed as a corporation (Waste Box Inc.) in BC and have a commercial liability insurance policy.

What is restricted material?

Gypsum, Plasterboard, and Styrofoam (expanded polystyrene) can not be dropped at the landfill but can be recycled (free of charge) at designated recycling depots. We only drop off at the transfer station and not multiple (specialty) recycling locations, these items are not permitted in the Waste Box.

Can the Waste Box damage property?

Yes. Careful placement is key. Edges and corners of concrete can be cracked and soft grassy areas damaged if placed on them (plus the accumulation of heavy items,) or full bins can create problems when lifted from those areas.
