How can I protect my child?

Put on rubber gloves and a dust mask. Moisten the mouse droppings and urine marks using 10% bleach and water solution or a Lysol-type product. Then scoop up the droppings with a paper towel and dispose of it.

How can I get rid of them?

It is possible that you have fleas. They are rare in Calgary unless you have pets or have had visitors that may have brought some into your home. A flea bite is found mainly from the knees down. The bite may be a bed bug bite or a spider bite.

Do hanging paper bags in my yard prevent wasps from building a nest?

Yes, but only at the spot that you hang the bag. Otherwise no, it will not prevent them from coming into your yard. Yes, but only at the spot that you hang the bag. Otherwise no, it will not prevent them from coming into your yard.

How do you get bed bugs? Bed bugs are limited in their locomotion to crawling; they do not fly or jump. Bed bugs can readily travel from room to room within a home or from unit to unit in multi-family buildings. Bed bugs get into your home after an overnight trip — by hitching a ride in your luggage or clothing. Typically they can enter your home if you bring in secondhand furniture that's infested. They are able to utilize pipes as travel corridors and can enter and exit spaces in walls. In order to travel a long distance, such as from one building to the next, bed bugs rely on assistance from people. Bed bugs know how to stay out of view during the daytime, hiding in mattress crevices, box springs, baseboards, behind electrical switchplates, in picture frames, and even behind wallpaper. If you have detected signs of bed bug activity in your home, quick action is required as an infestation can spread throughout the structure quickly. Call on the professional extermination services from Major Pest Control today to schedule a thorough inspection by one of our professionally trained technicians. Once the extent of the infestation has been assessed, we will implement a treatment program that will quickly and effectively eliminate bed bugs from your home.
