Professional Mold Inspections & Environmental Testing in Leduc, AB

I have come across double tapping in the main electrical panel in the last two houses I inspected last week, one of the house was 3000 sqft brand new house in South West Edmonton. Double tapping happens when two wires are drawing current from the same breaker as can be seen in the picture. This puts undue pressure on the breaker which might lead to over heating of the breaker resulting in in a 🔥fire. Both these panels had a City of Edmonton sticker on the panel showing that it was approved by the city inspector. Just to make sure this was acceptable by the city , I spoke to the city inspector and was surprised to know that this was not allowed by the city. What the inspector told me was that even after the panel is approved by the city inspector, some builders tend to change things without their knowledge.
