Industry standard is to turn the report over to the client within 24 hours of the Inspector leaving the inspection property. When the Inspector leaves the home, they will return to the office and begin preparing your report immediately. Our reports are well written, in a narrative format that is easy to understand, and well detailed. Reports may take between 8-12 hours to prepare. Your report will be delivered to you online the morning following your inspection.

It is becoming industry standard to collect inspection fees in advance to confirm inspection appointments. The majority of Inspectors (including Paragon) do not have accounts receivable departments to chase money, and unfortunately, there have been too many incidences of clients taking advantage of a deferred payment system within the industry. Paragon's inspectors are licensed members of Consumer Protection BC and a trained and certified members of the Home Inspectors Association of BC. Both organizations exist to help protect the client, monitor the inspectors reporting practice and business etiquette, and assist in mediation if there are any issues with the business transaction.

Inspections cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the start time are subject to a $195.00 cancellation fee. We feel this does not give fair opportunity to fill the spot which had been set aside for your inspection. For outright cancellations, the paid inspection fee will be refunded to your credit card, less the cancellation fee.

The on-site inspection can take 3-4 Hours for a moderately sized home (approx. 2500 sqft.) The larger (or older) the home, the more time the Inspector will need. Paragon's inspections are very thorough. Your Inspector will have no other appointments scheduled the day of your inspection and he will take as much time as necessary to evaluate the building properly.

Yes, we do! Testing of appliances is not included in the HIABC Scope of Inspection. However, Pargon feels this is valuable information for our clients. Due to time constraints we do not operate every function of every appliance or operate them through their various cycles to test their adequacy. We will make sure their basic functions are operable (the elements heat up on the cook-top, the oven gets warm, etc.) or run them through a quick cycle (dishwasher, washing machine) to watch for leaks or non-performance.
