Today's Tuesday tip is brought to you by our own frustration with our freezer gasket and how surprised we were that we only needed a hairdryer and some vaseline to resolve the problem! "Your freezer seal, or the freezer gasket, as it is known in the industry, keeps the cold air in and the warm, air out. The seal is the most important part of the freezer because without one that seals correctly, the compressor will need to work twice as hard and twice as long to keep the freezer cold. This will dramatically shorten the life of the compressor. If the gasket is damaged in any way, it must be replaced. But there are times when it will not seal correctly even if it is not damaged. If that occurs, the problem can be corrected".
