FAQs

Why should I purchase a new heating or air conditioning system from Service Right Now?

At SERVICE RIGHT NOW we realize that purchasing a heating or air conditioning system is no small matter. However, if your existing system is old, in need of repair or simply inefficient, purchasing a new unit, one which can be as much as 40% more efficient than a system purchased just 10 years ago, can turn into a long term benefit. Rather than continuing to pay for ongoing maintenance and costly monthly bills, invest in a new system today that will save you money for years to come.

How long will my system last?

Maintenance and service play a key role in the lifecycle of a heating or air conditioning system. If all recommended maintenance and service actions are taken, it is believed that an air conditioner should last 12-15 years and a gas furnace should last from 20 to 25 years.

What can be done about detecting carbon monoxide in the home?

The best method of detection is to use a carbon monoxide detector in your home. A carbon monoxide detector is a device very similar to a smoke alarm. It monitors the air for carbon monoxide and sounds an alarm if a specific level is detected. Ideally, you should have one detector adjacent to every living area in your home. Carbon monoxide detectors are most effective when used in combination with preventive maintenance. For more information on how to schedule regular maintenance for your furnace or about purchasing a carbon monoxide detector, contact SERVICE RIGHT NOW today.

Where is my air filter located?

Your air filter is located in either the blower compartment of your furnace, in an attached filter case, or in a wall-mounted return air grille. If you cannot locate the air filter, call your local dealer for assistance.

When should I change my air filter?

Every month, you should inspect or clean your air filter, or replace it if necessary, to keep your equipment running at peak efficiency. In some cases depending on the filter system you have may only require replacement quarterly, every 6 months, or in some cases only once a year.

More detailed information is available on the FAQ page of our website.
