FAQs

How can I prevent frozen pipes in cold weather?

To prevent frozen pipes, insulate exposed pipes, keep a slow drip of water running during freezing temperatures, and seal any gaps that allow cold air to reach the pipes.

How often should I flush and maintain my water heater?

Flushing your water heater at least once a year can help remove sediment buildup and maintain its efficiency. It's also a good idea to have it professionally serviced periodically.

What's the difference between hard water and soft water, and how can I treat hard water?

Hard water contains minerals like calcium and magnesium, which can cause scale buildup in pipes and on fixtures. Water softeners can be used to remove these minerals and prevent scale formation.

How can I detect a water leak in my home?

Look for signs like unexplained increases in your water bill, damp or discolored spots on walls or ceilings, and the sound of running water when no faucets are on. Professional leak detection services are also available.

When should I consider repiping my home?

Repiping is necessary when your plumbing system is aging, causing frequent leaks and reduced water quality. Signs include corrosion, rust-colored water, and recurrent plumbing issues. A plumber can assess if repiping is needed.
